The first part of your walk begins beside the St. James Church in
beautiful Chipping Campden. Passing the Alms House you follow
Church Street until it intersects with High Street.

Once on High Street, you pass through the famous Market Hall, built in 1627
by Sir Baptist Hicks, a prosperous Wool Merchant of that period.

Continuing through Chipping Campden, you turn right onto West End Terrace,
and then Hoo Lane, and pass some typical thatched roof cottages.

Your walk continues as you pass through a sheep filled meadow on your way into
Broadway, probably the most visited village in the Cotswolds.
Passing down High Street you will notice the typical honey-colored
Limestone cottages and shops as villagers begin their day.

Your walk next takes you into Upper Slaughter, situated on the banks of the little
River Eye. Following the path uphill, you cross a ford still in use and continue
past more of the typical honey-colored stone cottages.

At the top of the hill, you discover the Norman-style Church of St. Peter, forever associated with the Reverend F. E. Witts,
author of "The Diary of a Cotswold Parson." A sign outside the church states simply, "Flowers in Church."

And so, your walk takes you briefly into the old church lovingly decorated by villagers with
a profusion of flowers from their gardens.

Your 60 minute walk ends in Lower Slaughter, arguably one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotwolds.

Again, following the little River Eye as it winds through this picturesque village,
your walk takes you past lovely cottages with small flower gardens and a quaint old mill.
This hour long walk ends beside the River Eye.

And The Cotswold Villages Walk - Part 2 will be coming soon.

One of VITA Digital Productions' unique Virtual Walk Series

(All photos on this page are actual still frames from the DVD.)

This new DVD, the second in the Cotswold Villages series, has a 60 minute widescreen virtual walk
through five more quaint villages in the Cotswolds and is the perfect companion to a
treadmill, Nordic Track, elliptical, or exercise bike. It is also the perfect gift for friends and family.

Just place it in a DVD player, step onto your treadmill, and instantly
you will be taking a scenic walk in five more beautiful areas in the Cotswolds:
the villages of Snowshill, Castle Combe, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stanton, and Bibury.

These are some of the most famous and picturesque villages in the Cotswolds. William Morris called Bibury
"the most beautiful village in England," and Castle Combe has been used as the quintessential
English Village in numerous motion pictures and television programs.

Filmed with state-of-the-art professional television cameras and camera
stabilization equipment, the camera seems to float as it transports
you through these delightful villages.

A Description of the Walks on this DVD

The first part of your 60 minute walk begins outside of the charming village of Snowshill. Walking down
the hill and past some typical honey-colored cottages, constructed of local limestone, you eventually
reach the center of Snowshill.

Continuing on with your walk, you pause for a moment beside the Church of St. Barnabus
and its old graveyard with so many stories to tell.

Your walk through Snowshill pauses periodically to contemplate the various quaint cottages
found here before leaving the village by way of a tree-lined road.

Your walk continues as you next enter the village of Stanton.
Walking behind an elderly gentleman out for a stroll, you stop to take in a lovely
thatched-roofed cottage on the outskirts of Stanton.

Further on, a group of riders pass as you enter into the center of this traditional
Cotswold village. Everywhere you look, green plants are thriving.

Following the "Cotswold Way" road post, you leave Stanton and next enter into
the picturesque village of Burton-on-the-Water.

The River Windrush flows through the heart of this popular Cotswold village. Your walk
follows the footpath beside the river as it cuts through the village.

The idyllic village of Bibury is next on your walk. Starting at the Church, you soon pause at
the famous Arlington Row, certainly one of the most well-known sites in the Cotswolds.

Further on, your walk takes you beside Rack Isle, where dyed woolens were once hung to dry,
and on through the village and past the historic Swan Hotel.

And last, your hour-long walk takes you into arguably the most scenic village in all of the Cotswolds,
Castle Combe. You follow a narrow forest footpath, and suddenly the village appears - as if by magic.

Exploring the village, your walk takes you first into the parish church built in 1434.

In this quiet and tranquil church, an effigy of a knight in a suit of chain mail
has rested for centuries.

After a complete walking tour of this picturesque village, your 60 minute
walk ends at the By Brook.

As a BONUS you get....

"Cotswold Tapestry," a bonus chapter with a 12-minute featurette
on the villages visited in this Cotswolds Virtual Walk, is also included on this DVD!

The featurette takes a closer and more intimate look at the villages
of Stanton, Bibury,

Castle Combe, Burton-on-the-Water,

Stretton-on-Fosse, and Wyche Rissington.

And remember, this DVD makes a unique gift for family and friends!
